Equipment Profiles
Equipment profiles let you configure the specific gear you train with — resistance bands, kettlebells, machines, and bench angles. This makes logging faster and your data more meaningful.
Why profiles matter
Without profiles, logging a band exercise means typing "red band, ~40 lbs" every time. With a profile, you tap "Red Band" from your list and the tension is recorded automatically.
More importantly, profiles enable accurate tracking over time:
- Compare performance on the same machine across sessions
- Know exactly which kettlebell you used when reviewing old workouts
- Ensure band tension is recorded consistently
Equipment types
| Type | What you configure | Used with |
|---|---|---|
| Bands | Name, color, tension (lbs/kg) | Band resistance type |
| Kettlebells | Weight, label | Kettlebell resistance type |
| Machines | Name, gym, pin settings, equivalent weight | Machine resistance type |
| Bench Angles | Name, degrees | Angle resistance type |
Setting up profiles
Navigate to Settings > Equipment to configure your profiles. Add, edit, or remove profiles at any time.
Profiles sync across devices — set them up once and they're available on both web and mobile.
Using profiles during logging
When you log a set with a non-weight resistance type, HyperIron shows your configured profiles as quick-select options instead of requiring manual entry.
Recording setup details
Beyond profiles, per-set setup is tracked with exercise modifiers — bench angle, bands, stance width, stance angle, and heel wedge — which prepopulate from your previous session. For anything else (grip width or type, cable attachment, bar type, seat or pad position), use the set or exercise notes so you can reproduce the exact same setup next time.
