Bench Angles
Bench angle profiles define named presets for incline and decline positions, making it easy to log the exact angle you used.
Creating an angle profile
- Go to Settings > Equipment > Bench Angles
- Tap Add Angle
- Enter:
- Name — A descriptive label (e.g., "Low Incline", "High Incline")
- Degrees — The angle (e.g., 15, 30, 45, -15 for decline)
Common angles
| Name | Degrees | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Flat | 0° | Standard bench press, flyes |
| Low Incline | 15° | Upper chest emphasis, minimal shoulder |
| Incline | 30° | Classic incline press |
| High Incline | 45° | More shoulder emphasis |
| Slight Decline | -15° | Lower chest emphasis |
| Decline | -30° | Full decline position |
Why track angles?
The bench angle changes which muscles are emphasized. An incline press at 30° is a different stimulus than at 45° — the weights aren't directly comparable. Tracking the angle ensures your progression data stays meaningful.
Using angles during logging
When logging with the Angle resistance type, your configured angles appear as options. This is typically used alongside a weight to capture both the bench setup and the load.
