Connecting Your AI Coach
Set up the HyperIron MCP connection so your AI assistant can access your training data.
Prerequisites
- A HyperIron account with an active program
- An AI assistant with MCP support (Claude or ChatGPT)
Finding your MCP server URL
The HyperIron mobile app provides your personal MCP server URL on the AI Coach screen (accessible from the More tab). Tap the copy icon next to the URL to copy it to your clipboard — you'll need this when setting up your AI assistant.
Setup
Claude
- Go to claude.ai
- Open Settings > Integrations
- Find HyperIron in the available integrations, or paste your MCP server URL
- Click Connect and authorize access to your HyperIron account
- Start a new conversation — your AI coach now has access to your training data
The integration syncs automatically to Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile app.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, go to Settings > Apps > Advanced settings and enable Developer mode
- Go to Settings > Apps > Create app
- Set name to "HyperIron", auth to OAuth, and leave client ID/secret blank
- Paste your MCP server URL and click Create
- Sign in with your Google account when prompted — then start chatting with your training data
Launching your AI coach from the app
Once connected, the AI Coach tab in the mobile app's bottom navigation bar launches your configured chatbot directly — no need to open a separate app manually. To change which chatbot app opens, go to More > AI Coach and select your preferred app.
Verifying the connection
Start a conversation and ask something about your training:
What's my current program?
If connected, your AI coach will use the get_current_program tool to fetch and display your active program details. If not connected, it will tell you it doesn't have access.
Privacy
- Your AI assistant only accesses your data when you start a conversation and ask about training
- Your data is not stored by the AI between conversations
- You can disconnect at any time by removing the integration
Troubleshooting
AI says it can't access HyperIron: Check that the integration is still connected in your AI assistant's settings. Try disconnecting and reconnecting.
Data seems outdated: Your AI coach fetches fresh data each time you ask. If your latest workout isn't showing, make sure it was synced (check the mobile app sync status if you logged on mobile).
